Pine Cliffs Resort – Premium Ocean Suite 3 Bedroom

Pine Cliffs Resort is a firm family favourite thanks to its short transfer time (30 minutes from the airport), impressive setting and wealth of onsite facilities. Set in impressive grounds, perched high above the Atlantic Ocean, this Moorish inspired retreat is perfect for active families looking for a little sun, sea and relaxation.

Mini guests will love the impressive 7000sq m kids club ‘Porto Pirata’ which caters for children between 6 months – 12 years (depending on the season) with additional programmes for teens. Instantly recognisable from the two life size wooden pirate ship play forts the club is better referred to as a village with an 18-hole mini golf course, volley pool and basketball courts, supervised children’s pool, play area and bouncy castle. While little ones are busy meeting friends and having fun parents can have a little fun of their own sampling the varied activities onsite. Keen golfers can take in a picturesque round while tennis players can hone their game at the academy. Water sports enthusiast should head for the beach club where they can try a range of sports from water skiing to windsurfing, paddle boarding to kayaking. There’s a great spa for those in need of a little pampering and plenty of places poolside or on the beach to simply lounge and make the most of the sun.

The beach will prove a big hit with all the family. Accessed via a lift (followed by a series of wide, shallow steps) guests descend through the cliffs and out onto a magnificent private beach which stretches all the way to Vilamoura. There’s parasols, loungers and towels on offer plus the beach club has a great bar which serves a selection of sandwiches, snacks, grilled fish, ice-creams and drinks. As mentioned water sports are available during warmer months and the family banana boats, ringo rides (there’s an inflatable sofa option which is our personal favourite) and pedalos are always popular.

Accommodation wise there’s a variety of options on offer to suit families of all sizes. The newly refurbished premium suites and rooms within the hotel are great for those with a new baby while the Pine Cliffs Residences, Terraces and Villas are perfect for larger groups with two, three and four bedroom options available. These further benefit from self-catering facilities which are always handy when travelling with little ones as they offer a little extra flexibility. These newly built suites (available from July 2016) are in a great location next to the golf course, overlooking the Atlantic. Flooded with natural light these suites have been finished to a high standard and are perfect for the more discerning traveller. The two bedroom suites comprise of a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge, perfect for relaxing come nightfall. The spacious master bathroom is elegantly furnished and has a large en-suite with stylishly fitted bath and luxurious rainfall shower. The second bedroom and third bedroom can be set up as a twin room and each has access to a luxury bathroom. The bedrooms and living area have access onto a private, furnished balcony which looks out over the resort and the Atlantic coast. The suite has air conditioning, several LCD TVs.
