La Source Chalet

Summer or Winter, this place rocks! The boutique-style Alpine chalet is literally hewn into the rock face as families will see for themselves while ‘apres-skiing’ in their very own ‘Stag Bar’ with funky glass floors and table football to a soundtrack of favourite tunes on Dr Dre Beatboxes. Not forgetting, the Tour de France passes through mid July!

At first glance it’s a classic Alpine chalet but once inside the owners have gone to town to create the wow factor, from the contemporary interior design and decor to no-expense-spared luxury touches. Floor to ceiling windows flood the spacious living areas with light and allow guests to take full advantage of the awesome mountain views while relaxing in the big leather sofas by the log fire in the sitting room or chatting around the solid oak dining table on the open plan kitchen/dining floor. Children of all ages will be kept occupied with the PS3, toys, games and books, or by logging into the Wi Fi and there’s always the Apple TV and DVD player. The kitchen is state of the art and includes two large fridges, two ovens and a dishwasher, plus if parents don’t fancy cooking, the chalet manager can arrange for breakfasts, child teas and adult evening meals to be delivered.

Sliding doors lead from the sitting room and kitchen/dining floor to big, panoramic balconies where bean bags and a paddling pool can be set up on hot summers days and ‘La Source Chalet’ itself flows into a special ‘basin’ for sampling refreshing mountain spring water. La Source sits high on the south side of the Morzine Valley, bathing it in all-day sunshine. Off the side of the sitting room a separate timber deck is where families will find the luxurious Sundance spa bath to enjoy sunsets over the peaks while soothing away the stress in deep, snuggly bubbles. If that’s not quite enough relaxation and pampering, the chalet has its own alpine sauna and a range of massage or beauty treatments can be arranged, while the complimentary toiletries are Molton & Brown for grown ups and organic Childs Farm for the kids.

Although the chalet is laid out over 6 floors, there’s plenty of storage space in the ground level ski room for the pushchair and the toddler carrier rucksack provided. The way the bedrooms are configured as ‘floor clusters’ for 4 or 5 people, with each bedroom having its own luxury rainshower ensuite, also means that three families can stay together in complete privacy. In the penthouse-like master suite with an adjacent bunk room for children, parents can gaze out on the mountains while lying in the king size bed or step onto the private, breathtaking balcony for a wake up coffee or nightcap under the stars.

Accommodation overview

The Chalet sleeps up to 13 family and friends plus babies in cots which can be provided. The first and second floors each have two bedrooms which can be set up as doubles or twins, each with their own luxury ensuite with walk-in rainshower, washbasin and WC. On the top floor, under the high raftered eaves, the large master suite, comprises a kingsize bed which can be split into a twin, an adjacent dressing room/childs room with three bunk beds and a luxurious ensuite with a bath, walk-in rainshower, double washbasins and WC.
