From morning strolls to the village boulangerie and lazy days by the private heated pool, to sipping St Emilion wine under the stars, this bijou, 2-bedroom Baby-Friendly Bolthole has all the ingredients for an effortless holiday in the Dordogne.
Blue Door Cottage is tucked away at the back of the owners’ home screened by tall plants and both Amy and d'Armond strike just the right balance of giving guests their privacy while being on hand to help, whether recommending local restaurants, arranging bike hire or booking day trips.
French doors open onto a private terrace where the heated 7x3m pool reaches toasty spa temperatures in the summer sunshine and little ones can have a splashing time with the pool toys. A pretty patio, framed with roses and wisteria, also makes the perfect spot for laid back French breakfasts with Nespresso coffees and for stress-free suppers, rustled up in the well-equipped kitchen.
A play pen is available to give parents peace of mind while lazing on the loungers and a 3m x 3m umbrella provides shade. To escape the midday sun and if evenings turn chilly, families can retreat indoors and a flop into a comfy sofa in the open plan living room, to watch movies, box sets and kids TV on a Smart TV with Netflix; log into the free Wi Fi, or listen to music through the Bose Bluetooth speaker.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. Thanks! Joel DaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really fast and easy, available on a Sunday to complete our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
