Located equidistant from the beautiful white city of Ostuni, charming town of Cisternino and fashionable Martina France, the beautifully restored and renovated Trulli villa in Puglia offers an ideal base for exploring this varied and vibrant coastal region.
Contemporary and child-friendly, the owners have worked hard to create an inviting space which highlights the traditional architecture and natural materials. In keeping with the original set-up of the property, the villa is all set on one-level, making it perfect for families with toddlers in tow.
What we particularly enjoy about this part of Italy, aside from the Apulian cuisine, is the coastline. Unlike other regions, it offers an array of sandy beaches and guests can easily reach a range of well-equipped beach clubs on the Adriactic coast within 20-minutes drive of the villa.
That said, families could easily let the days drift by just soaking up the natural beauty around them, relaxing by the private pool and reconnecting as family without the distractions of home. The villa sits in picturesque gardens filled with fragrant Mediterranean planting and there’s plenty of space to lounge or dine outside to make the most of the sunshine.
For dining out there’s a great local restaurant within 25 minutes’ walk of the villa, but as is common in the area, the road in unpaved and unlit at night, so parents may prefer to hop in the car for a few minutes instead. Slightly further afield (within 15 minutes) you have a choice of excellent eateries, shops and towns.
Whilst the villa may not have the array of baby/toddler gear we usually like to see from our properties. It’s combination of location and style, made it a stand out property for the area and is a great destination for a rural, Italian beach holiday.
Accommodation Overview:
This impressive, traditional trulli has vaulted ceilings, simple but elegant furnishings and a natural, warm glow from the Apulian stone walls.
The house sleeps six plus infants in three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite double rooms and the third is a small double. The living area is spacious and comfortable. It offers a lounge, dining space and a well-equipped kitchen with a hob, coffee machine, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
Doors from the living area lead directly out onto the villa’s pool terrace which has panoramic views of the Val d’Itria. There’s a shaded dining area and a BBQ for outdoor dining and loungers by the pool for relaxing.
There’s also a handy utility room outside with a washing machine.
An iron, ironing board, hairdryer and bath towels are provided. Air-conditioning is provided in the bedrooms only, but the nature of the building means the rooms remain cool even in the heigh of summer.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
