Set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, this palatial hotel is a beacon of luxury in the bustling city of Marrakech. Jaw dropping good looks combine with impeccable service, an impressive spa and a genuinely, family-friendly welcome, making this place more than little a bit special.
Located just ten minutes from Menara airport and a few miles south of the bustling Medina, the hotel offers a real oasis in the heart of the city. Appearing like a mirage in an otherwise arid desert landscape, the hotel is a vibrant splash of colour filled with beautiful grounds, sparkling swimming pools and even its own herd of fine, Arabian horses. Inside the hotel has been styled by Jacques Garcia, who’s artfully combined Art Noveau style with Berber luxury to create a real sense of old school glamour. We could wax lyrical about the hotel’s style for at least a couple of thousand more words but what truly excites us about this Moroccan retreat, is its child-friendly credentials.
Mini guests are treated like royalty, befitting their surroundings. On arrival they’re greeted with a charming, welcome gift and rooms can be set up with a host of handy baby/toddler gear to ensure a comfortable, stress-free stay (see fast facts box for full details). It’s the kids club however, that proves the real crowning glory. Free for 4-12-year-olds (younger children can attend if accompanied by an adult or babysitter) it offers a beautiful indoor and outdoor play area alongside a host of fun-filled activities including pony/horse-drawn carriage rides. In the evenings the club staff offer regular theme nights offering the perfect excuse for parents to enjoy a romantic dinner à deux.
Family-friendly in every sense, the hotel doesn’t just strive to make little ones happy, it ensures parents equally taken of. We defy anyone not to feel more than just a little smug as they recline alongside Morocco’s longest swimming pool, lined in Guatemalan marble, beneath the shade of a palm tree, under an almost year-round sun. Of course, there’s much, more to Selman than postcard good looks. There’s a choice of restaurants serving a delicious and varied cuisine, two sophisticated bars serving, an opulent Henri Chenot spa, gym, hairdresser and more. The hotel concierge can offer a range of activities from golfing to skiing, quad biking to hot air balloon rides. So however, you choose to relax, the hotel can easily oblige.
There’s nowhere quite like The Selman, for exotic, family holiday within four hours of London, filled with fun, sun and relaxation!

Location Information
The hotel is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Marrakech airport (transfers with baby seats can be arranged) and approximately 15 minutes from the bustling Medina centre. The flight time is between 3.5 – 4 hours from London making it the perfect destination for Autumn, Winter or Spring sun holiday breaks.
Although the hotel has plenty to keep families entertained, there’s also a choice of activities nearby from desert quad biking to golfing, mountain treks to guided walks.
Of course, no trip to Marrakech would be complete without a visit to the Medina. A culture filled maze of colourful souks, beautiful rooftop restaurants and artisan shops hidden away behind the cities red walls. For foodies, we recommend a trip to Medina restaurants, Nomad, Le Jardin, and Terrasse Des Epices. The latter had the best chicken pastilla (a richly filled filo style parcel, friend and topped with icing sugar) we tried and is sat above a lovely selection of fixed-price shops filled with young designer wares. Keeping with the shopping theme there are some fantastic concept stores within the vibrant and bustling souks. Max & Jan is one of our personal favourites and has a little coffee shop for a mid-shop break.
Those in search of a little culture won’t be disappointed. There’s a choice of museums, galleries and historic sites to visit. Our favourites include the infamous Jardin Majorelle which is a beautiful botanical garden in the heart of the city and the neighbouring Yves St Laurent Museum which has a collection of their dresses and a beautiful book shop. Back in the medina the Maison de la Photographie is another favourite. It has a stunning collection of photographs and is a tranquil, haven away from the hustle and bustle of the manic Medina.
Nearest Medical Facility: The hotel can arrange a doctor on request.
Getting there: Marrakech Menara airport is approx.10 minutes drive from the hotel and a range of Uk airports offer direct flights. Transfers with car seats can be arranged for around £50 each way (these are included with suite and villa bookings).

Colette SintonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were lucky enough to have Vicki's expertise and support in finding our family holiday in Zakynthos this summer. After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! MAGGIE OAKLANDTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We used baby friendly bolt holes to book a trip to Portugal. Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. Hannah RoseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Since our daughter was born 2.5 years ago, we have booked every single trip away with BFB. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. Thanks! Joel DaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really fast and easy, available on a Sunday to complete our booking. Highly recommended Samantha ClarkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
