The ultimate escape at Retallack Resort, this six bedroom, six bathroom luxury lodge boasts it's own heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, cinema room and Green Egg bbq. It is a brilliant option for a holiday or celebration break with extended family or friends, especially with kids who will love the private and communal facilities including the kids club, play areas and surf simulator.

Whilst it is exceptionally well equipped as a self catering lodge, The Herons also has the benefit of a great position within the Retallack Resort and all its facilities on the doorstep. Plust the pretty coastal towns of Padstow, Watergate Bay and Wadebridge are within a short drive. On site there's a sophisticated bar and bistro, plus a family friendly cafe, offering both dine in or click and collect take away services. Plus, plenty to keep everyone entertained to with a gorgeous Elemis spa, kids club, creche, 'Flow rider' surf simulator, lake paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, indoor pool and numerous play areas.

Inside, The Herons lodge has a homely but high spec feel, with oak floors, granite marble work surfaces, crisp cotton sheets and a kitchen with hob and oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave. In addition to ther massive and very sociable open-plan ground floor with kitchen, dining and massive comfortable lounge area, there 's also a cinema room with 50" TV and pool table, which means there's space for a family room and an adults retreat. The numerous decked terraces allow for bbqs, morning coffees, evening drinks or simply lounging in the hot tub, all whilst overlooking the scenic lake. Whilst the good-size lawn houses a large heated private pool (safety cover) and enough space for little kick abouts or ride-ons. There's also no need to worry about filling the car boot with baby gear either, as cots, highchairs, bath mats, stair gates, bed guards, socket covers, plastic crockery, plastic cutlery and sippy cups can all be provided free of charge for guests booking via Baby-Friendly Boltholes.

Junior guests will think they have been transported to holiday heaven, no matter what their age. The Kids Club provides everything from Monkey Music for babies and toddlers, to Bushtucker Trials and Tennis Academy for 4 – 12 year olds, complete with qualified supervisors to put your mind at rest. There's outdoor play areas for all ages too with an adventure playground featuring an aerial slide, pirate ship, desert island climbing frame and swings.

The 'Loop Academy' teenage club will scoop up any over-13s and take them surfing, skating, coasteering and teach them photography and digital editing on the latest Apple Macs. Plus, Retallack's secret weapon for amusing the most determinedly-attitudinal teen, and a good few parents, is the FlowRider, an amazing ride that generates a 3-inch deep stationary wave that you can surf, body board or even skateboard on. The FlowRider area now includes ‘FlowZone’ with a brand new soft play area, excellent for occupying smaller children in a safe environment whilst the bigger kids enjoy the FlowRider.

Retallack is parent heaven too, with a sophisticated bar and brasserie, heated indoor swimming pool, gym, golf course, tennis courts and a spa that offers every kind of stress-busting treatment and massage that you could wish for. This six-bedroom lodge is ideal for multiple families sharing as it is exceptionally spacious with six ensuite bedrooms and two lounges (one upstairs and one downstairs). It is light and bright with huge picture windows leading onto the two deck areas with lovely lake views a Green Egg BBQ, sauna and a private hot tub for 8 – perfect for winding down when the little ones are tucked up in bed or introducing them to stars-potting. There are all mod cons including two 50" smart TV and WiFi plus a large and well-designed kitchen with high quality granite worktops, oven hob, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. In the bedrooms, the huge super-king (can be unzipped into twins on request) beds with Egyptian cotton linens provide an equally indulgent feel and can make getting up in the morning pretty tough, especially given the stunning views they enjoy. The private lawn garden boasts a large heated pool, loungers dining furniture, BBQ and space for kick abouts and ride ons.
