Les Logis du Theatre

Close to the Alpine border with Switzerland, the Jura wine region of France is one of the country’s better kept secrets which is why BFB are so pleased to feature this 4-star family gite, with real wow factor flair.

Tucked down a quiet street in the little market town of Poligny, Logis du Theatre seems unassuming enough but, once inside the gite, the design and decor is a masterclass in funky, contemporary living for families with tots to teens. The large lounge sets the tone, with a bold cerise feature wall complementing exposed stonework and wide, designer-style sofas for watching the flat screen TV, family DVD’s or playing with the toys provided, with CD’s on the music system. The open plan kitchen dining room is equally bright and spacious, with a big chunky bench table (high chairs available) and contemporary kitchen, with modern appliances, baby crockery and cutlery.

The four bedrooms at the logis have been individually styled, like a hip boutique hotel, ranging from retro chic to elegant luxury and the two bathrooms are ultra sleek and modern too. As a single storey gite, all four bedrooms are on the ground floor so parents don’t have too much cause to panic about crawlers and toddlers escaping from room to room, or for hearing sleeping babies while chatting the evening away with local Jura wine and Compte cheese – samples provided in the welcome pack. The gite is especially ideal for two families because the layout is like two family suites, each comprising a king-size bedroom and twin room with adjoining bathrooms.

French doors lead into the safely enclosed garden, with a lovely al fresco dining deck for barbecues, overlooking lawns for children to play. A paddling pool, ride-on tricycle, badminton and tennis raquets are provided and the gite has a dedicated games room for fun family tournaments, with a pool table, ping pong, table football and air hockey.

It is also worth noting that the owner can arrange wine tasting with local growers, along with cookery and painting courses.

Accommodation overview

Logis du Theatre is a spacious, single-storey family gite for upto 8 people (4 bedrooms), plus babies (2 travel cots and 1 wooden cot is available). The bedrooms are configured as two family suites, each comprising one king-size bedroom and one twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom. One bathroom has a walk in shower, the other has a large bath. All four bedrooms have space for a cot. From June to September two large studio flats are also available at the same address, each suitable for a couple with one child.
