What Leonora's House lacks in interior style, it more than makes up for with location, and ultimately provides the perfect base for family villa holiday.
Nestled on the illustrious Northeast coast of Corfu, this simple, three-bedroom villa comes with its own, private swimming pool, exceptional sea views and an enviable location within a seven minutes’ walk from one of the regions best fishing villages, Agios Stephanos. This small but bustling seaside resort, offers an idyllic coastal setting, looking out on turquoise blue sea with boats bobbing in the distance. It has a choice of excellent seafront taverna restaurants and is the perfect place to wander down to after a day by the pool, order a carafe of ice-cold local wine, some fresh seafood and soak up the view. As for little ones, they’ll be welcomed with open arms by the friendly restaurant owners and can burn off any residual energy paddling in the water and shell hunting on the beach directly in front of the restaurant.
Although its easy to just wile a week away in a routine of family pool days, followed by waterside languid lunches or dinners in Agios Stephanos, there’s a whole lot more to see within a short drive. Whichever direction you set off along the coast, you’ll find two lovely beaches Avlaki and Kerasia, both of which play host to excellent restaurants of their own and are perfect for beach days. For more adventurous families we highly recommend hiring a boat from the local village. You can pack a picnic and head out to explore the beautiful coastline and drop anchor somewhere remote and beautiful for a private dip. There's even an option to pre-book boat hire via our partners before you travel, which is particularly useful in the height of summer when availability is limited.
Durrell fans will find the famous ‘White House’, one time home of Gerald Durrell, a short drive (or boat ride) to the south. Sitting in another beautiful cove, the house has been lovingly renovated into a boutique hotel with a contemporary, waterfront restaurant. We particularly enjoyed their feta and honey filo pastries during our visit and found it a dreamy spot for a leisurely lunch on the water.
For larger groups, or friends wanting to holiday together, we recommend looking at Villa Maria which is a two bedroom villa located a few minutes from Leonora's House.
Accommodation Overview
This three-bedroom villa sleeps six plus an infant in a two-level villa with two twin rooms on the ground floor and a master suite on the first floor. The bedrooms are a good size with simple, unfussy but comfortable furniture. There is a bathroom and additional shower room on the ground floor and an en-suite bathroom on the first floor attached to the double bedroom. The living area is located on the ground floor and is light and spacious. There's a good-sized living area with a TV, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and doors leading directly out onto the pool terrace. The kitchen is traditional but well-equipped with an electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The villa also provides a washing machine.
Outside the house has a beautiful terrace with sweeping views over the sea. There’s an outdoor dining table for alfresco meals and a BBQ for summer cooking. The pool is unfenced but perfect for swimming and there's a Jacuzzi attached to one side of the pool.
Please note: Air conditioning is provided in the bedrooms only. An iron, ironing board, pool and bath towels are provided. Guests should be aware that the villa is reached via a steep driveway and requires a reasonably confident driver.

Location Information
The villa is situated on Corfu’s north-east coast which home to some of the island’s prettiest villages, coves and verdant green backdrops. It has been a long-time favourite with sophisticated visitors and it’s easy to see why families such as the Durrells and THE Rothchilds made their home here.
An easy 50-minute drive from the airport, the villa sits just a few minutes’ walk from the bustling, waterfront village of Agios Stephanos which offers a small, but good selection of restaurants, shops and a mini market. Families can easy rent boats here so they can explore the coastline on the water and it’s one of our favourite ways to see area.
By car, guests will find two, beautiful beaches, Kerasia and Avalaki within a five-minute drive and the latter has a particular well-regarded restaurant. We recommend booking a table one evening and taking advantage of the water taxi service they offer from Agios Stephanos. You can enjoy a car free dinner with a picturesque boat trip there and back, knowing you only have a four-minute walk back up to your villa.
For supermarkets and more choice of shops we recommend driving to Kassiopi which is just 10 minutes’ drive away and is a good place to stock up on self-catering essentials during your stay.
For a day out we’re particularly found of Corfu town which is 40 minutes’ drive away and offers a pretty, bustling town filled with good shops, restaurants, bars and more. It’s a former venetian port which is reflected in the architecture and is also right on the water, so families could cool off as the locals do with a quick dip before the drive home.
Nearest airport: Corfu international airport is 50 minutes away by car. We recommend guests hire a car to best explore this beautiful Greek island.

Colette SintonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were lucky enough to have Vicki's expertise and support in finding our family holiday in Zakynthos this summer. After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. Thanks! Joel DaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really fast and easy, available on a Sunday to complete our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
