Lansallos Cottage One

When owners Alice and Trevor discovered this charming Cornish hideaway, the couple immediately fell in love with the place and it is pretty easy to see why. These two adjoining cottages have an amazing setting, nestled in a virtually private valley, between Fowey and Looe, in 3-acres of south facing gardens, with views over rolling countryside to the sea.

The Cornish coast path is just 10-minutes walk and a smugglers track leads to the stunning Lansallos Cove with Caribbean clear water. The horseshoe bay is idyllic for playing, paddling and swimming but guests also have free access to the luxurious indoor heated pool and tennis courts at the family friendly Fowey Hall Hotel Spa (short drive). As if that wasn't enough to guarantee parental relaxation, there's a huge list of handy baby and toddler gear to make light work of packing, and a fabulous ready-meal delivery service from local company, Red Earth too… all in all, rather idyllic.

Lansallos Cottage One is an original Cornish cottage for a family of 5, with pets welcome too. The cottage is not striving to be super chic or boutique but the homely comfort, fantastic baby gear and dream setting make the cottage too good for BFB to miss. The 24' drawing room with rustic stone walls has a big log fire, traditional bread oven and a piano, a TV, DVD and CD players, plus doors that open onto the fabulous garden. The cottage kitchen is well equipped, with dining furniture for 6 and a complimentary Cornish cream tea is provided on arrival. Organic fruit and vegetables are available from the garden when in season and there's refreshing water from a private spring. One of the three bedrooms is located downstairs, which is handy for a napping baby or less mobile adult.

The glorious communal 3-acre garden is where the house really comes into its own, with terraced lawns and lots of secret corners for youngsters to play hide and seek while grown ups pick a spot to gaze on the fantastic sea views. Everyone can watch out for a variety of feathered friends visiting the well stocked bird feeders and there's also a sandpit with buckets and spades, swirly tennis, boules and a croquet set.

Lansallos Cottage One is a cosy 3-bedroom cottage for up to 5 people, plus babies in cots. There's a single bedroom downstairs and two double bedrooms upstairs, with beautiful views over the gardens and the valley to the sea. Guests can even gaze on the view while relaxing in the bath! The kitchen is well-equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, drier, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. and there's a TV with DVD in the lounge, plus TV in main bedroom. Wi-Fi is provided.
