Hotel Migjorn 1st Floor Superior Suite

This rustic-chic finca is an idyllically set family-friendly boutique hotel combining stylish interiors with small hotel charm, a lovely rural location, 10 minutes drive from one of the best beaches on the island, and a family friendly approach. It is owned and managed by the friendly Webb family (originally from the North of England), who have their own toddler in tow. The 10 suites come with spacious double bedrooms, and separate living areas with sofabeds/space for toddler beds and mini kitchens that are perfect for warming baby food/feed or knocking up cereal or pasta for toddlers. The practical yet luxurious accommodation and tranquil but convienent (with a car) location, combined with a useful baby and toddler gear, from toys and highchairs to changing mats, potties, sterilisers and cots, makes Hotel Migjorn a great find for style-savvy families.

Unsurprisingly, the guestbook is stuffed full of rave reviews from happy parents of pre-schoolers. All adore the fact Hotel Migjorn is just 10 minutes (drive) from some of the island's best beaches, a fraction further to the picturesque town of Santanyi, home to good restaurants, boutiques and bars, and only half an hour from the airport, making for stress-free arrivals and departures. However, the highest praise is reserved for the ambiance which, with only 10 guestrooms, is more akin to that of a serviced villa than a typical hotel – especially when enjoying waiter service by the fabulously uncrowded pool!

The cuisine also garners high praise. Much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the delicious daily breakfasts, lunches and vegetables are grown on its 'Home Farm', which guests are also invited to raid for supplies to cook in their own kitchenettes (equipped with twin hobs, fridges, sinks and microwaves. Daily breakfasts focus on fresh fruit, organic cereals and cheeses and are served on the terrace until 10.30am daily. There is a waiter service for drinks, nibbles and light lunches (ordered by 11am) by the pool. The charred garlic chicken and local chorizos are not to be missed, whilst junior guests lap up the Migjorn Meatballs. Vegetarians are also well looked after.

Mini guests particularly enjoy the comfortably heated pool and play area, both of which are a real bonus in spring and autumn when its warm enough to be outside but wouldn't be warm enough to swim, were the pool not so well heated.


Accommodation Overview – 1st Floor Superior Suite

Accommodation at Hotel Migjorn is in a choice of four suite types: 'Deluxe Double', 'Ground Floor Superior', 'First Floor Superior' and 'Junior Suite Superior'. All comprise of separate bedroom and living areas with pretty white-washed walls, natural stone floors, exposed beam ceilings and good quality furnishings. Each has 1 bedroom (twin or double) and a separate open-plan living area complete with kitchenette (sink, fridge, ice box, 2-ring hob and microwaves on request), seating and dining areas (see floor plans in photo gallery). The main difference between them is the size of the living area and the terrace or balcony.

1st Superior Suites have either twin or double bedrooms, full bathrooms (tub & shower over) and a living area with lounge seating, dining table and a kitchenette plus a large private balcony with seting area and lovely rural views. Kitchenettes include fridges (with ice box), sink and 2-ring hob (microwaves can be provided on request). Lounges have double sofa-beds, and bedrooms are large enough to take a cot or child bed.

Please note: 2 children under 5 yrs stay free per couple, those over 5 yrs are charged at 30 Euros per night and those over 16 yrs are charged 50 Euros per night.

From July 2016 there's a complusory Spanish Government Tourist Tax of €1 per person (over 16) a night
