When we first stumbled across Evora Farm Hotel & Spa we knew we'd discovered something special! This laid-back country retreat sits on 11 hectares of beautiful, rural countryside which instantly evokes a sense of peace. The surrounding nature informs everything they do at the hotel from the delicious farm to table food to the kid's activities and spa treatments. In keeping with the hotel's ethos, the contemporary structure has been carefully designed to harmonise with its location. Its interiors only further induce calm thanks to a carefully selected palette of neutral tones, artisanal materials and locally inspired artwork. But while it's easy to get carried away on style here, there's genuine parent-friendly substance here as well.
First, let's start with the accommodation. The hotel offers a variety of rooms including family ones, but it's the villas we're particularly fond of. These two and three-bedroom properties each come with their own swimming pools and are perfect for parents looking for a little more space. There's no need to rush to the pool each morning as you've got your own just outside making lazy mornings easy and of course, like all our properties the hotel can arrange a small smattering of baby gear for families with younger kids in tow.
Now for the food. The hotel has an organic vegetable garden and orchard which supplies a lot of its produce, and is otherwise supplemented by specialist local suppliers. The menu changes seasonally but the focus is always the same. Delicious, healthy and sustainable food with a unique flair. If you're worried it sounds too adult, worry not, there's also a kids menu. Guests can choose to enjoy delicious breakfast, freshly prepared lunches, and dinner at the hotel, plus the chef is always happy to prepare a picnic for families looking to explore the grounds.
And as for kids, they're well taken care of and it all starts at check-in. After a personalised arrival experience, little ones will find a wealth of things to keep them entertained, aside from the swimming pool. The hotel offers a kids club for children aged 4-12 years old which is focused on eco-friendly and educational play. There are fun kids' yoga sessions and a petting farm where little ones can get up close and friendly with the resident animals. Whilst adventuring through the grounds, children are always welcome to pick their own fruit from the orchard and can have a go at planting their own produce in the vegetable garden. The hotel really works hard to make families feel welcome and offers them a chance to make time for what matters and memories which will last a lifetime.

Location Information
The hotel is located on the Herdade do Perdiganito, an 11-hectare estate surrounded by greenery in the Alentejo region of Portugal. A less obvious choice than the heavily populated Algarve, this quiet and beautiful region offers families a chance to get back to nature. It offers miles of rolling countryside, pretty villages, wild beaches, and coastal towns. The hotel's local town, Evora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and on arrival, guests will understand why.
The hotel is 1.5 hours drive from Lisbon airport and we would recommend a car for exploring the region.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. Thanks! Joel DaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really fast and easy, available on a Sunday to complete our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
