On first glance, it may be hard to believe that the stylish and luxurious Elounda Gulf Villas and Suites is family-friendly but, with kids menus in the restaurants, a handy list of nursery equipment, a brand new outdoor play area, and professionally run kids club and creche, it it really is!

The fact that this elegant cluster of 18 pool villas and 10 suites is family owned, goes a long way to explaining why somewhere so obviously boutique in style can be so well thought out for families. They even go so far as to offer to pre-stock the accommodation with nappies, wipes, formula and baby food prior to guests arrival.

Here, parents can look forward to combining half-days with the kids splashing around in the pool or at the private beach club, with couple-time soaking up the beautiful sea views from a pool lounger, indulging in the spa or burning off excess energy in the gym whilst the kids are enjoying the kids club, which is free for children aged 4-12, or creche. Both childcare options are run by the UK-based World Wide Kids Company, so parents can be confident of them adhering to Ofsted standards and knowing little ones will be well cared for and entertained.


For those who can tear themselves away from the resort's lovely views, the bustling harbour town of Elounda is just one kilometre away and offers a wide range of shops, boutiques and tavernas; whilst larger Aghios Nikolaos with its inland lagoon, has an even wider choice and is just a short drive away. The nearest beach is just below the resort but best reached by car (10mins) or the free shuttle bus laid on for guests. The shuttle takes guests directly to the hotel's own private beach club which offers complimentary luxury sunbeds, shades and soft towels, as well as boating its own beach bar with snacks and drinks on offer.

Accommodation on offer at the resort ranges from 1 and 2 bedroom suites, set around the communal pool, to 1, 2 , 3 and 4-bedroom villas, each with their own private pools, some with private fitness suites and saunas.

Occupying an area of 150m² the 3-bedroom Aegean Pool Villas comprise a luxurious master bedroom retreat with en suite bathroom and two further bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The tastefully designed sitting area and a lovely open plan kitchen boast elegant floor to ceiling windows leading to the stunning private pool with breathtaking views to the sea and jacuzzi section. Impressive tromp l'oeil hand-painted ceilings and marble touches in the vast bathrooms complete the luxurious feel of this accommodation. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with 4-ring hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee maker, washing machine, fridge, freezer, iron and ironing board. Guests can expect bathrobes, slippers, luxury toiletries, hairdryers and Wi-Fi to be provided.
