Eden Villas offers the perfect slice of paradise, comprising a super stylish family home in a secluded garden with pool, amongst the tropical vegetation of Krabi and just 10 minutes drive from unspoilt, white sandy beaches on Thailand’s Andaman coast.

After the trials of a long haul flight, Lee, the owner’s warm welcome and some food in the fridge are just what pooped parents need to drop and flop in the cool, spotlessly clean luxury of the villa. Also invaluable is the fact that Lee provides all the essentials for babies and toddlers, from cots, high chairs and potty to baby monitor, steriliser and plastic crockery. The host is a mine of local information and will be very happy to arrange all kinds of trips and activities so families can experience all the highlights of this dream destination, such as island hopping in a traditional longtail boat or tantalizing tastebuds with the best Thai food, either at the villa or at Lee’s pick of local restaurants.

There’s a hint of a traditional Thai residence in the architecture of the single-storey Eden Villa but it’s distinctly contemporary throughout, with air conditioning, every home comfort and all mod cons, from wall-mounted flat screen TV with Sky channels to iPod dock and Wi-Fi. The living/dining area and kitchen is open plan and has two sets of sliding doors opening onto the patio, pool and garden. Of the three bedrooms (2 with king size beds and 1 twin room), the master bedroom also has sliding doors onto the patio, pool and garden so parents can be close to baby tucked up in bed while relaxing under the stars.

Simply snoozing on the sun loungers by the pool will be very tempting for grown-ups, while children safely play on the ride-ons and trikes in the garden, spot monkeys swinging between the trees and help Lee feed his chickens. However, a little exploring has to be on the agenda too, in such an amazing location, especially to the paradise beach of Ao Tha Lane, just 10 minutes drive from the Villa, or to go snorkelling in the stunning lagoon in nearby Koh Hong National Park, or to check out colourful Krabi town. The villa makes the perfect, stress-free base to introduce children to the delights of Thailand – so get ready to start saving for that gap year!
