Chalet Morzine is a fantastic find for style-savvy skiers considering hitting the slopes with a little one in tow.
Little ones will love the balcony hot tub overlooking the winter wonderland below, and the downstairs playroom, equipped with enough movies, games and toys to ensure they are entertained, occupied and, even, educated at all times. The room is easily converted into a crèche with nannies, or grown-ups cinema room. When not working their way through the huge film collection, adults tend to appreciate the hot tub, sauna and sociable dining room with honesty bar, where the chalet's talented chef cooks up delicious home-made dinners and fresh baked breakfast pastries, all with free flowing wine or coffee. The seven en-suite bedrooms are arranged around a spacious central lounge area with real log fire, which makes the ideal spot for some quiet relaxation and recounting the day’s activities. There's one family bedroom with double and two singles, and six rooms for two with zip n' link beds making twin or super king, all have space for a cot/additional child bed. The lovely 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, over down duvets and pillows can be very hard to leave but the modern bathrooms (all en-suite) with their invigorating showers and luxurious fluffy towels soften the blow considerably.
Location Information
The chalet itself is scenically set in the largely unspoilt and charming Valley de la Manche, 3km from the centre of Morzine. It is far enough from the bustle of town to ensure relaxation, yet ideally located for access to the Nyon ski lift and no more than a few minutes’ drive from either the Avoriaz or Pleney/Les Gets areas. Emma and Olly operate a very handy minibus service to take guests around the local area. Included in the price is chauffeured transfers to and from the slopes and to and from Morzine centre, for nightlife, until 1.30am daily.
Morzine town is stunning when dressed for winter, with a feel of eternal Christmas; it retains its sense of community. Still resembling the original village with wooden facades, carved balconies and slate roofs.
Although Skiing and Snowboarding are the most common reasons for visiting in winter they are far from the only activities available, as parapenting, snow-mobiling, ice-skating or dog sledding are some of many activities available without missing any of your skiing day. However most people come here for the skiing and it is no surprise why. Morzine's Pleney Telecabine accesses the plateau and is the best place for early days and those in lessons, by offering the best range of blues and greens and being accessible on foot. The other side of town is 'Super Morzine' which links directly to Avoriaz, which is also accessible via the Telepherique de Prodain. All are a short hop from the chalet and also easily linked via the free bus service.
For those that are after a challenge in their skiing there are many hidden off-piste gems, including the trees of Lindaret or Combette, the infamous Swiss Wall, Chamossiere and the Col du Fornet, running down the head of the Valley de la Manche, almost to the door of Chalet Morzine.
Avoriaz was the first resort in Europe to build a snowboard park and has maintained a reputation for being at the forefront of catering for the freestyle generation ever since. These days there are 3 parks in Avoriaz alone, with also a rail run through the trees of Lindaret. There are also parks in Crozet, Chatel and Mont Cherie, altogether catering for complete first timers to the world’s best, as well as everyone in between. The scope of variety and choice means you can ski a different area each day of the week and almost need not to follow the same piste twice. If you fancy getting away from the crowds and enjoying some of the most beautiful areas, there are numerous ski de fond (cross country) tracks as well.
Getting There: The chalet is approx. 80-minutes from Geneva airport. Transfers, including child seats, can be arranged for €60pp where there can be an arranged pick up and drop off service (other transfers can be arranged from else where in the French Alps on request)
Nearest Medical Services: The centre of Morzine is 5 minutes drive away in which there are several doctors.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
