Son Siurana is agri-tourism at its best, found in Mallorca’s picturesque north, just 10 minutes from Pollenca and Alcudia’s famously family friendly beaches. Almonds, figs and carob are still grown on the farm and a large flock of sheep roam the 100 acres of grounds, but the owners have now lovingly converted the sun bleached farm buildings into a boutique hotel, apartments and houses, where weary parents can look forward to utter relaxation.
The owners have maintained the warmth and charm of the place by staying true to traditional Mallorcan style, from lime washed walls and magnificent beamed ceilings, to antique furniture, lavish fabrics and cheerful, hand painted tiling. They’ve also got the rustic chic just right, with wow factor lounges in the main house, breakfast served in a pretty courtyard and broad shady terraces, festooned in bougainvillea, for admiring the views with drinks or a gourmet dinner, ordered in advance.
As Son Siurana is tucked into a hillside, the views are pretty amazing and the grounds provide loads of space for children to safely play and explore. If families are feeling energetic, there are numerous walking trails to follow through an evergreen oak forest or the more strenuous Mountain Path promises sea views of Alcudia Bay, Puerto Pollenca and Cap Formentor. Alternatively, the beckoning blue pool has Roman steps for toddlers to paddle and there are plenty of sun loungers for pooped parents to sneak forty winks in the shade of a parasol.

Location Information
Against the backdrop of Mallorca’s dramatic Tramuntana Mountains, Son Siurana is just 15 minutes drive from the lovely old town of Pollenca and the family resorts of Alcudia Bay.
Pollenca dates back to Roman times and the narrow cobbled streets are a pleasure to stroll around, with interesting gift shops and boutiques, pavement cafes and restaurants. On Sunday morning, the town is a hive of activity when the Placa Major is filled with market stalls to stock up on fruit, vegetables, cheese, meats and Mallorcan souvenirs. For general groceries and provisions, there are several Eroski supermarkets in the area and British baby food, baby milk, nappies and cereals etc are available at The British Food Shop in Puerto Pollenca.
Not be confused with Pollenca but just a few miles away, Puerto Pollenca is a sheltered man-made bay and yachting marina which has a long string of restaurants and cafes along its ‘Pine Walk’, backing the sandy beach – particularly handy for parents to grab a coffee or beer while watching the kids play in the sand.
A famously scenic drive from Puerto Pollenca (20kms), winds its way to Mallorca’s dramatic northern peninsula of Cap Formentor, with sheers cliffs plunging to the glittering turquoise sea below. Continuing round and down through pine forests, Cap Formentor also has tiny coves and bays to discover which make the perfect spot for a picnic.
Like Pollenca, Alcudia is steeped is Roman history, with ruins and interesting narrow streets to explore, plus the old fishing village has plenty of quayside restaurants to try the fresh catch of the day. In particular its Alcudia’s fab sandy beaches that keep families flocking here year after year – stretching for 5 miles, it’s one of the longest beaches on Mallorca, with gently shelving sand for paddling into the sea, hillocks of sand dunes and all kinds of watersports. Children will also enjoy the thrills of Hidropark Waterpark and for eating out and nightlife, Alcudia is the liveliest resort town in the North.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
