Maison Tranquil is a wonderful group retreat, perfect for those looking for a relaxing, country getaway. Set in 3.5 acres of private grounds, surrounded by vineyards with beautiful lake views, this seven bedroom house provides families with an idyllic rural retreat.

If the location alone can’t induce instant relaxation, frazzled parents in need of a little extra TLC, can opt to upgrade to a catered package (part/full) or even arrange a massage treatment or two to ensure they fully unwind.

Little ones are equally catered for with an impressive, child friendly swimming pool, play area, games room and abundance of toys. Plus there’s plenty of space for them to run, explore and play with acres of safely enclosed gardens.

That said the property’s grounds are sure to be the biggest hit of all with the whole family. Parents can appreciate the views from one of the sunny terraces or catch up on a spot of reading whilst lounging by the pool while little ones splash, swim and play.

For those keen to explore the area, there’s plenty to do and see within an easy drive. The bastide, medieval town of Mirepoix and the riverside town of Limoux are both just 20 minutes’ drive away while Carcassone with its UNESCO world heritage castle and airport are just 30 minutes away. Beach days are easy, there are family friendly lake beaches within 40 minutes’ drive while the coast is a little further afield.

All in all Maison Tranquil has something for everyone and is sure to provide a memorable and enjoyable family holiday.

Accommodation Overview:

Maison Tranquil has large, light and airy communal spaces totalling 350m2 and can accommodate up to 18 guests in seven bedrooms.

The first floor boasts five en-suite-bedrooms all leading off the galleried hallway that wraps around the house. Bedrooms one – three are either king or queen beds, bedroom four has two single beds (which can be put together as a king) whilst bedroom five hosts two single beds and a set of bunk beds, ideal as a children’s room. Layout can be changed to accommodate individual requirements with day beds and cots available for little people.

The ground floor is centred around the stunning dining room with open fireplace and bespoke four metre oak dining table, there is ample seating for even the grandest banquet a great space for big get togethers.

Leading off the dining room are two comfortable reception rooms with wood burning stoves, perfect for evening socialising in cooler months and escaping the Mediterranean sun in the summer. Also off the dining room is the stunning kitchen/breakfast room with all mod cons, dishwasher, microwave oven, range oven, kitchen island, it even boasts it’s own wood burning pizza oven. There is a utility room / pantry and direct access to parking so offloading food & wine is easy. There is a breakfast table that seats six-eight people and access to the garden.

Also on the ground floor is Bedroom six with a queen bed, day bed and a private bathroom, perfect for mobility impaired guests that would prefer ground floor accommodation.Bedroom seven offers an queen size double bed and private en-suite bathroom.

The dining room and kitchen lead out onto the sun terraces with views of the surrounding countryside and of course the lake. There are plenty of shaded areas, in addition to tables and chairs for al-fresco dining and a BBQ. A few steps lead down to the large private gardens and lawns with petanque court, children’s play area and sand pit. Through a secure gated area is the pool with island and shallow steps, perfect for children learning to swim. There are plenty of lounge chairs available to soak up the sun and a pool house to relax in.
