Silverlake Estate in Dorset is a real find for families in search of a fun-filled country getaway. Guests will find themselves surrounded by nature with ancient woodlands, lakes, and hedgerows, all brimming with wildlife. From Dartmoor ponies to Sika Deer, Otters, and an array of birds, the estate is full of wonders and that’s before we’ve even mentioned the heated infinity pool, rooftop bar, spa, choice of activities, seasonal pizza yurt and lake beach! It’s a real haven, where guests can combine nature with luxury facilities and contemporary, family-friendly accommodation.
Active families will find themselves spoiled for choice when it comes to what to do. There are a plethora of activities on offer from boating to fishing, cycle routes, walking footpaths, and watersports. ‘The Island’ is always a big hit with children as it’s a fantastic play area with a zip wire, games area, tennis court, and adventure playground. Those in search of a well-deserved rest will find the estate spa a real draw. It’s the ultimate place to relax and unwind. From the tranquil treatment rooms scented with essential oils to the sauna and fabulous rooftop hot tubs and bar, both of which are perfect for soaking up the views. The bar even offers a choice of small plates and snacks which are great for a quick feed after a busy day on the lake. The onsite gym is a great addition for those so inclined, but with hundreds of acres of countryside to explore, guests may find they get more than enough exercise simply exploring!
?
Despite its rural setting, the estate is only a short drive from the bustling towns of Dorchester and Weymouth, whilst the Jurassic coast can be reached in under half an hour. Perfect for families looking to explore the region, a stay at the estate combines rural tranquillity with contemporary, architect-designed accommodation and fantastic facilities akin to those at a five-star hotel! Each house varies in size, with options for both large group holidays and small family getaways. It’s also perfect for groups of friends looking to holiday together but each has their own space. We really couldn’t picture a more idyllic place to escape to the country for a few days, relax, unwind, and spend some quality family time!

Colette SintonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were lucky enough to have Vicki's expertise and support in finding our family holiday in Zakynthos this summer. After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! MAGGIE OAKLANDTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We used baby friendly bolt holes to book a trip to Portugal. Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. Thanks! Joel DaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really fast and easy, available on a Sunday to complete our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
