But what really sets this cottage apart is the owner’s attention to detail. From bigger touches such as the thoughtful supply of baby gear, optional massage treatments, and private chef hire to the small things like the freshly cut flower and luxury toiletries that await every new guest. It is no wonder the cottage has been awarded 5* gold by VisitEngland.
Whether visiting in the summer, soaking up the sun from the garden or curled up beside the fire after a brisk winters day spent exploring, the cottage offers a real, rural idyll which will feel a world away from home. Did we mention it’s under two hours from London? Perfect for a weekend getaway with kids in tow!
Accommodation Overview
Culls Cottage is a semi-detached country cottage which sleeps six in three bedrooms. Guests enter into a cosy lounge with a feature log burner, comfortable sofas and 4k TV with Bose speakers. An archway leads into the contemporary dining room which has seating for eight and this leads into the separate kitchen. The kitchen is contemporary and well equipped with a fridge, freezer, electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, espresso machine and digital radio. It also has a wealth of crockery, pots and pans so there's everything needed for whipping up family feasts. Don't forget, there's also an option to hire a chef which is a great indulgence for special occasions.
The cottage bedrooms are split over two floors, with one bedroom on the ground floor and two upstairs. The downstairs bedroom is a cosy double room and has access to a downstairs wet-room style bathroom. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a king-sized double bed ad views over the gardens. The final bedroom is another double room. Both these rooms have access to a large family bathroom with double-ended slipper bath and shower.
Outside the house has a beautiful rear garden with a large lawn for little ones to play on, a dining terrace and plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
The house has underfloor heating, wifi and off-road parking for up to four cars.
Location Information
The Cotswolds is an idyllic location for a family escape to the country. There's an abundance of good food pubs along with acclaimed fine dining restaurants and Bijou village eateries all within a short drive of the cottage. In fact, The Swan Pub in the village is just a short walk away and serves fantastic, locally sourced food.
Southrop is a quintessential country village skirted by the River Leach. This Gloucestershire village is picturesque and has a restaurant, cookery school, and spa for guests to enjoy. village fete and ford side carol singing.
Guests can walk across the fields to the village of Eastleach where there is another great pub called The Victoria and the walk back along the river bank is lovely!
For family days out there's an abundance of stately homes, farm parks, and museums to keep guests of all aged entertained. We particularly like Adam Henson's Cotswolds Farm Park near Cheltenham and Cattle Country's Farm Park. Both are great for families! For those hoping to make like the 'Cotswold Set' the ever-popular Daylesford Organic Farm is just a short drive away and offers a lovely farm shop, chic cafe/restaurant, and the Bamford wellness spa onsite. Soho House members will find the farmhouse an easy drive away too and we recommend a meal at The Wild Rabbit in Kingham.

After finding out exactly what we hoped for and needed, Vicki was able to find our perfect holiday - we were so looking forward to it and couldn't have been more delighted. Vicki's communication was informative and proactive throughout - our happiness with the arrangements was of the utmost importance to her and I felt I could get in touch with any queries. These were addressed swiftly and efficiently. I really felt like she went the extra mile in helping us plan our holiday and ensuring we were comfortable with all aspects. Highly recommend!! Tori was really helpful in helping us book, manage transfers, etc. On our departure day we had unexpected passport issues - Tori was straight on to the hotel and arranged for us to stay a couple of days later than planned. She was brilliant and really diffused the stress of a heart sink situation. Would definitely book with these guys again. We have never been disappointed, and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to holidays! They respond so quickly to every query and have got us some great deals. I trust them fully with what are such crucial decisions about our much needed holidays and recommend them to every parent I know! I would be lost without them! The matching service was really useful Chris ReddingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I submitted some basic details on their form on a Sunday evening and Tori got back to me the next day. We exchanged several emails and spoke on the phone. Tori was well informed, responsive and thorough. I was able to book a place that looks great with her help. It was great to have help from someone who specialises in family holidays, as our requirements are pretty different now compared to before having kids. I don't actually think I've ever had a personal service to help book a holiday before. Maybe this is what it was like when people used to go to the travel agent on the high street... Thanks Tori and BFB, would recommend and use again. Jessica TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Baby Friendly Boltholes by doing a Google search, and completed their online form with my holiday requirements. They got back to me very quickly with some great recommendations which were also very cost effective. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances we're unable to book at this time, but I will definitely go back to Baby Friendly Boltholes when we're in a position to move forward with our booking. I can’t recommend Juliet at babyboltholes enough, from our initial enquiry right through to booking, she was responsive, understanding and patient. I didn’t even know where to start booking our first family holiday, Juliet took onboard all our needs and found us our dream trip. 5 star service for busy parents!
